Hallow App Launches 2022 Advent Prayer Challenge Featuring The Chosen Cast

Fans of the hit series The Chosen can now pray with the cast on Hallow, a catholic prayer and meditation app, as part of an Advent prayer challenge.

“I am thrilled to partner this year with Hallow, Jonathan [Roumie], and several of our amazing actors from The Chosen for Hallow’s Advent #Pray25 challenge,” the show’s creator, Dallas Jenkins, said of the challenge.

“This is a perfect time of year to be focused on prayer, for two reasons,” he added. “Number one, Season 3 of The Chosen is actually coming out this holiday season, so be sure to check that out. But number two, and by far a more important reason, this is the time of year that we focus on the birth of the man The Chosen is all about, Jesus Christ.”

Leading the challenge is Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus Christ in The Chosen. His co-stars will read passages from the Old and New Testaments aloud as part of a daily meditation.

According to ChurchLeaders.com, the actors participating in the challenge include George Harrison Xanthis (John the Evangelist), Elizabeth Tabish (Mary Magdalene), Paras Patel (Matthew), David Amito (John the Baptist) and Vanessa Benavente (Mary, the Mother of Jesus).

The Chosen continues to transform lives and hearts by being the largest Christian streaming series in history, with over 400 million views worldwide. For the first time ever, you can pray alongside them as we bring your favorite cast members into Advent #Pray25!”  the Hallow website states.

The Hallow app was first launched in 2018 by CEO and co-founder Alex Jones. Jones grew up Catholic but later fell away from the faith before returning to it later. Jones, alongside co-founders Erich Kerekes and Alessandro DiSanto, created the app after they saw their friends turn to “secular meditation, mindfulness apps and yoga.”

Users of the Hallow app can select up to 13 “interests,” including Daily Meditations, Bible in a Year, and the Rosary, while also stating their goals for the app, such as praying more or growing closer to God.
