The long-awaited Messiah, Jesus, came to earth. Something new. It is one thing to anticipate the answer and correction of all things. It is quite another for the authority to arrive. As a man, Jesus lived in obedience to God the Father, demonstrating the way we are to operate in the Kingdom of God. Promise of Jesus when I go away, the Spirit of God will come and lead you from the inside. Previous efforts to reconcile God and man through the law and the prophets failed.
God says, “I am not a book. Go to Jesus for answers.”

Ch 48: Jesus’ Transfiguration
Matthew 17:1-8; Mark 9:2-8; Luke 9:28-36
ABOUT A week later Jesus went with three of his disciples, Peter, James, and John, into a high mountain to pray.
As he prayed he was transfigured before them. His face shone as the sun and his garments became white and glistening, as bright as light. Moses and Elijah appeared and talked with Jesus about coming events at Jerusalem.
Peter said:
“Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
While Peter was speaking a bright cloud came over them and out of it came a voice, which said:
“THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED. HERE YE HIM.”
When the disciples heard the voice, they were afraid and fell on their faces.
Jesus came and touched them, saying:
“Arise and be not afraid.”
And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus.
The three disciples guarded word of this event as a secret, telling no one what they had seen.
