Jesus Spoke With Authority

Jesus is not like us. We must take caution to mold our lives after Jesus; not mold Jesus after us. Examine the mind of Christ through his words and actions. Prophets were given for the time when communication with God was limited. Jesus instructed, “Keep my commandments and my Father and I will teach you from the inside.” No hierarchy in the Kingdom of God.

Ch. 33 – JESUS RAISES JAIRUS’ DAUGHTER

JAIRUS, a ruler of the synagogue, came and threw himself at Jesus’ feet. He besought his aid, saying:

“My little daughter, who is about twelve years old, lieth at the point of death. I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.”

Jesus went with him, followed by many people. While on their was a person came to Jairus, saying:

“Thy daughter is dead. Trouble not the Master.”

Jesus heard the message and said to Jairus:

“Fear not; believe only, and she shall be made whole.”

When they arrived at the house, Jesus permitted none to enter with him except Peter, James, John, and the parents of the child.

In the house many were weeping and wailing. Jesus said:

“Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.”

They laughed at him scornfully, knowing that the girl was dead. Jesus put them all out.

Jesus took the hand of the girl and said:

“Maid, arise.”

Straightway the girl arose. The parents were astonished. Jesus instructed them to give the maiden something to eat, and he ordered them to tell no one what had happened.

But his fame spread throughout the land.
