A church in Houston, Texas, recently saw over 1,100 people make professions of faith during its annual Christmas show.
According to Faithwire, attendees of Champion Forest Baptist Church’s annual Christmas Spectacular show were treated to a time of music, lights and performances between December 8-12. At the end of each show, the church’s lead pastor, Jarrett Stephens, shared the gospel and asked people if they could hold up their flashlights on their cellphones if they would like to surrender their lives to Christ.
According to the church, 1,114 people shone their lights.
“God is moving and to Him be the glory. It is all about Him,” Stephens told Baptist Press. ‘I’m amazed, and our team is blown away by the response.”
Each person who gave their lives to Christ received a Bible and a follow-up from a church staff member within 48 hours of making their profession.
“You’re receiving the light of the world into your life,” Stephens told them. “And now we want you to show that light.”
As reported by Baptist Press, over 100 volunteers worked overtime to make sure they promptly followed up with the new believers.
“They let people know they rejoiced in their decision and wanted to answer any questions,” Stephens said. “We’ve had a lot of great conversations out of that.”
According to a statement shared to YouTube by the Champion Forest Baptist Church, church members are “still picking [their] jaws up off of the floor after seeing God move like never before” inside their church.
“ELEVEN HUNDRED lives changed for eternity!” the statement reads. “THIS is what it’s all about. Forever changed because of the power of the GOSPEL. Thank you, church family, for the way you sacrificially serve, give, and go for the sake of the Kingdom. The show may be over, but a movement is just beginning. Thank you, LORD,” the statement concluded.
